Writers! Need a boost? Get your creative engine firing through this 6-week workshop for writers of all experience levels. In this fun and supportive class we’ll respond to a range of writing prompts aimed to loosen up and get your writing flowing. You will be supported to set a goal and design the structure that will ensure you meet your goal – whether it’s crafting your very first poem, submitting a poem to a journal, or finishing the draft of a novel that’s been on the backburner for a decade. I’ll share my extensive experience in project management, grant-writing and submissions to help you set – and meet – your goals. You can’t finish until you start!

Bio: Sophie Anne Edwards’ work has been published by several presses: Gap Riot, Blasted Tree, and Jack Pine, as well as by a range of literary magazines across Canada. In addition to a full-length book of hybrid/experimental environmental poetry which is forthcoming with Talon, fall 2024, she’s written/edited three non-fiction books. She has been longlisted for the CBC Poetry Prize, and shortlisted for Arc Magazine Poem of the Year. She has 35+ years experience in project management, coaching and consulting. Among other experiences, she has worked for the Ontario Arts Council, NORDIK Institute, Creative Industries, and the Media Arts Network of Ontario. Her writing has been generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council, and she’s been a juror for the OAC numerous times. www.sophieanneedwards.ca
